    MPC 2500

    Hi all.
Just wondered if anyone has any ideas on this fault, I got a call to a customer with error code sc547 and discovered fuse 101 on psu(8 amp-250v) was blown, customer said they thought power cable was faulty and replaced it with another printers cable, I replaced it with the correct cable & replaced the fuse (5 amp-250v it was all i had at the time) & 10 days later got a call back with sc 547 blown fuse again I then fitted the correct rated fuse, customer has m/c plugged into a power surge socket & claims no other m/c is affected ,thanks in advance & merry christmas to all.

SC547 is a zero cross error. Could be a defective PSU.

Had this on a MPC3300 this week although mine blew straight away and was caused by the pressure arm spring coming loose and shorting the lamps. I realise your fault can't be the same as it does run for a while before blowing the fuse, but the fuser could be good place to look at to start with.

Thanks for the replies, the m/c has been in situ for three years with no problems & has a surge adapter fitted, the fuser unit was replaced at the same time as the 5 amp fuse was fitted, I have fitted the correct fuse & am waiting to see if this blows too but the m/c is in a school so wont know till after the holidays, thanks again.

Have you ensured the cables are all reconnected properly
Maybe you have placed the fuser cable in the wrong place

wow talk about kicking a dead horse ...

as a newbie .. may I suggest starting you OWN NEW thread and list like the OP on this thread..
    Page Counts Machine/Supplies
    work done on machine
(in your case) measure wall voltage.. any surges etc
    New/Old Wiring

things that might help us more

since it was working *more-or-less* before your touched it..
    go back over your work..
    unplug/plug all harnesses..
did you reset any error codes?
