    df 710 jamming j88 code

Can anyone help with j88 and intermittent c8050 issue when copying or printing to the A tray on a DF-710 finisher. Ive tried the timing adjustment as mentioned in one of the bulletins. The lower belt mt doesnt look damaged. The finisher has done about 500k.

I've got nothing on C8050, but a few entries for J88:

Misfeeds Jam 88 in the middle finisher tray when output to the DF-710 finisher, intermittently. Door D8 pops open when the magnet detaches from the door. Superglue the magnet to door D8. Place a layer on black tape on the frame to let the magnet release easier.

Misfeeds (Jam J52, J81, J88). "Check the Cover." indication intermittently. Left side door is warped, so that movement of the finisher opens the door/doorswitch. To test, move away the finisher and pull on the finisher latch bracket on the left door lightly. Watch for "Check the Cover." indications. Reform the left door along the rear edge so that the door pulls in tightly when closed.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks for the reply, i have tested the finisher with the door open and i trip the door switch with some folded paper. The weired thing is that you can do as many sets as you like through the finisher but as soon as the last set is ejected thats when it throws the j88 error remove paper from internal finisher. Just woundering if the lower belt mt is stretched.

Re: df 710 jamming j88 code

On machines that default to tray A output, the belt tensioner leaf spring for the set eject belt can become seriously bent, so the belt is very sloppy. But even when the belt is nearly falling off, I've never seen it cause a problem.

I've re-formed plenty of these belt tensioners, and it's a pita to get to. There's 1 screw that holds it, and to get to that screw you have to remove the staplers and crossmember. It hardly seems worth it. =^..^=

Smile Re: df 710 jamming j88 code

    Solved it without bulletin.

I had the same issue. J 88 and C8050 after.

The lift belt has slipped a good inch or even two reaching the home position before the RED disk could lock in its home position which means the Red disk OPEN and pull inner tray has priority logically to gain access to the finisher inner tray. So I have checked by how far has the red wheel turned to its home position and then held (locked it) with one hand and forced downwards the lift belt until the belt home position was reached with the flag being half way. Once in place I have bent the tensioner to give the belt good tension to avoid slippage again. You have to be careful not to bent it too much as the lift hook may catch on the back of the inner tray chassis.

    Another good Friday ..

    Have a nice weekend folks.
