    Re: HP 4250/Driving me nuts

Check paper size detection and default settings as all these issues look like they could be caused by size mismatching

    Re: HP 4250/Driving me nuts

What do the jams look like?

Sometimes you get a batch of fusers that aren't lubed well. The sleeve doesn't turn when the pressure roller does, and you get fuser stopped jams or fuser late jams. When you take the print cartridge out, does the printed portion of the paper back up to BEFORE the transfer roller? If it does, it sounds like the fuser sleeve isn't turning properly.

The pressing button to get it to print--probably just the paper tray. They slammed the drawer and now it's on the wrong paper size setting.

    Re: HP 4250/Driving me nuts

    Hi
I appreciate all the responses,Yes there was a lot of mismatching of paper sizes.I set all trays to standard setting and set them all up for 8.5x11 plain paper.(could mismatching be caused on the way the network guy set up the individual printers?)there are 5 computers on this machine.Ill check new fuser and replace drive gear today just in case.
    THANKS ANDY

    Re: HP 4250/Driving me nuts

I supervised the rebuild of thousands of these machines. Common failures are solenoid (tray 1 &2) sticking causing pick roller to keep turning, tray 2 pick gears get gummy and wont turn causing pick roller not to drop and spin (basically when the solenoid releases the gears, the spring is supposed to pull the gear to engage and all the grease causes the gear to stick). then registration problems but that usually was indicated by dog earring. And of course fuser sleeve can be a problem.

That was my first thought when I saw the 13.20 jams. Even newly rebuilt fusers are often poorly lubricated, and benefit from cleaning the heater and re-lubricating it. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

You'll usually see: "41.03.00 UNEXPECTED PAPER SIZE" if you've got a mis-programmed paper size, and I didn't see any on your event log. =^..^=

EDIT: Ah! There are 4 events of 41.03.00
That will help for some of your jams. =^..^=

HI, THE SAGA CONTINUES,I went to customer office today and there was note on machine that it has been jamming.I found jam in machine with front edge at fuser and last 3 inches crunched up at transfer roller.I also changed fuser drive gear this week just in case. This is newest event log. .

What is the million copy roller?

Did you replace just the gear or the whole swingplate?

I like to think of the printer pushing and pulling paper. Here the registration would be pushing and the fuser a pulling. The fuser is not pulling as fast as the registration assy. Bad fuser
probably. Double check the entry guides on the fuser

when it does print are the pages a little blurry? Run a paper path test. Does the image shift at all up or down the page?

Check or replace the toner just to be sure. Sometimes a shutter or hopper rail can come loose and block the paper path.

Call the fuser vendor and tell them you suspect the fuser

This really sounds like the fuser sleeve isn't turning. Try getting some fuser grease and lubing. Or replace fuser.
