Mpc 6502 with sr4090 finisher not stacking correctly

    Hi all.

I have an issue whereas when stapled sets are exiting the finisher they are not falling back to to finisher. The staples are catching on the previous set and so stacking is not even. This mainly happens on a double staple. Is there any way to make the mc jog so that the staples don't catch each other. The sponge rollers are ok and I have looked at the pinch bar position.

    Any ideas.

If this happened all of a sudden, you might check to see if the tray angle is correct. I've had a couple of older machines where the metal piece the tray is mounted to got bent and caused something like that.
You've probably already tried paper from a new ream, as if the paper curls too much I've seen the staples catch on sets with few pages.

This is a very common event with almost any finisher when stapling sets with of only a few sheets. The thicker the stapled set, the better the staple is clinched.

Agreed...I have never seen stapled sets stack neatly but I believe the engineering mindset is that if they are stapled, neat stacks are not so critical.

Thanks for the replies guys, the exit tray is at the correct angle. i guess as its only 10 sheets being stapled, the staples are sitting proud and catching, just thought i would ask if there could be anything done.

    Thanks.

Make sure your foam gathering rollers are not worn out! (nubbins worn down) if they are worn down, it won't kick and stack the stapled sets correctly!
