Re: MP C6003 slow to print colour to finisher.

WHat kind of slow print? Does the machine need more time between data processing and paper feed or does it reduce the process speed? If you deal with the second case I can imagine that some weird paper type or thickness setting might have an influence.

    Check the PTR roller....

If anyone has done maintenance on it and put the wrong PTR in your going to have issues

For example the D149 PTR roller is designed for A3 paper only and does process control on the fly

The D739 PTR is designed for SRA3 and does process control the usual way via patch between jobs

If someone has put the wrong PTR in it can cause weird and wonderful issues

Also when it comes to shitty issues like this I find a new set of door switches always seems to work as Ricoh door switches are absolutely shit

I don't think having the wide PTR in the machine would matter unless the SP code has been changed to reflect that. If he had the wide roller in and the machine was set to narrow he would notice on his output paper. But it can't hurt to check I suppose.

    Well bugger me!!!!

    Thermistor.jpg

Had a brain storming session with the senior techs the other morning and just for fun one of the guys swapped fusers and, oh lord look at that, the bloody thing worked!

Can understand why it would take a long while to bring fuser up to temp for colour print but why the difference between internal tray and finisher tray???

Anyway full marks to Damo for stepping outside the square and trying something different. Sometimes we just over analyse things.

Weird fuser problems can make you hallucinate.

We had an MPC 4500 sitting directly under a wall mounted airconditioner. The fixed air-con vains where directed down onto the copier. The machine would sometimes take ages to come out of hybernation into ready mode. It would some times throw a fuser SC5??? code. After 2 or 3 fuser replacements, we finally convinced the customer to move the machine out from under the air-con unit and the problem dissappeared.
