Device Counter E-Mail Function
Overview
This is a function to report the device counter to the specified e-mail address periodically at the specified timing.
Setting Procedure
Check that the version of the system/copy firmware is 1.02.1 or later.
User Tools icon> Machine Features > System Settings > Administrators Settings > Firmware Version
Specify the SMTP server settings.
User Tools icon> Machine Features > System Settings > File Transfer > SMTP Server
Specify the administrator’s e-mail address.
User Tools iocn > Machine Features > System Settings > File Transfer > Administrator's Email Address


Set SP5-866-110 to “1” to enable Device Counter E-Mail Function.

In SP5-866-114, specify the date to e-mail the counter value.

Using SP5-866-121 to 123, enter the destination e-mail addresses.

SP5-866-123 for BCC address (Delete and enter BCC if required


Do SP5-866-112 to perform a test transmission and check that the notification is sent to the specified e-mail addresses.

In SP5-866-113, check whether the next time to e-mail the counter value has been set to the specified date and time.

Have tried this software and obviously it needs to be installed on a PC in the same network as the printer and also needs Java to be installed and then there is an annual charge. I guess it could be ok for really old machines or if you don't have @remote but the inbuilt SP i have tried in recent days and works great but only seems to work for 02 machines onwards with a firmware update. Have tried on all the machines new and refurb in our showroom the last couple of days. One of the other posters on this thread has tried on several newer machines but would like to comment on other machines that the inbuilt SP counter works with as it works a treat. Only needs to use the same SMTP server setup as in scan to email and as long as your customers network allows emails from the machine to reach the outside world not just internal network.

Confirmed working on MPC3002SP MPC4502SP MPCW2201SP MPC306ZSP MPC4503SP MPC6502SP all with latest firmware up to date.
Did not work on MPC300 MPC305SPF with latest firmware updates.

maybe i'm just not getting the joke but are you seriously installing a third party app that collects information on a customer's network? that sounds like a serious violation of security to me. also, haven't any of you heard of @remote? it's a secure, Ricoh created system for collecting meters, supply levels, notification of jams/service codes etc...and it's totally free and embedded in the machines...

You got to remember, a lot of folks out there are not authorized dealers so @remote is not an option for us. On Konica Minolta we use the tools that are ment for the network admin to collect meters and jam info not CS Remote Care or vCare. Sharp's don have anything special as long as SMTP in configured. On the Ricohs we can get jam information as long as SMTP is configured (once again using tools that are ment for network admin) but no meters.

in my country,@remote just for president company only, even we authorized dealer not allow to use it, and is not embedded in the inside machine either .
