Re: Anyone know what this dimple key is for?

It is exactly this. Most likely for a SP 5210 with a dedicated prescription drawer. Have Many of them in the field and a key in my tool kit...

Removable HDDs are sorta like Bigfoot; we're pretty sure they exist, but nobody can say for sure that they have ever actually seen one.
I installed a couple of them on like an Aficio 3035...

The more I think about it, an HDD lock uses a barrel lock and key, but I'm not sure.

Looks like the winner here is the drawer lock.

I think I saw one of these years ago, but you can see where it would be of value to restrict access to certain blank forms from evil doers, or, from a less cynical perspective, to make sure that sequentially numbered blank forms stay in order.

I guess another reason would be to lock down the supply of normal copier paper, but if that's an issue, you have bigger fish to fry.

I've installed about a dozen external HDDs over the years. But those keys looked more like the barrel-types similar to what you would use to open the fronts of vending machines.

Drawer lock seems the most plausible. I was at a bank with a HP that Used drawer locks for the blank bank checks.
