    03 Internal finisher sr-3130

    Help please!

I have several of these sr3130 internal finishers and all are getting the same code! SC 724-70

Several came in from shipping but one was working just fine, then i took it off the machine to clean it, put it back on and now im getting this code again!

I know it has to be something that i'm doing, some little thing i'm missing..it shows a jam first, then after it detects a second jam it throws this code according to the manual.

    724-70

B Shift Tray Ascent/Descent Motor Error (Internal finisher)

§ During ascent from paper surface sensor ON, even after
T11 msec elapses, the paper surface sensor does not
switch OFF (1st time is jam notification, 2nd time is SC
    notification).
§ During descent from paper surface sensor OFF, the paper
surface sensor does not switch ON even after T12 msec
elapses (1st time is jam notification, 2nd time is SC
    notification).
§ During descent to the packing position, the full sensor does
not switch ON even if T13 msec elapses.

    Hi there!
Take a look at RTB RD690002 for the sr-3130, maybe thatīs a solution for your prob.
    Greetings...

    Re: 03 Internal finisher sr-3130

i had one come back from lease where it must have been in a dirty warehouse.
It would jam/stop lead edge 3 inches above fuser unit.
And then it would code out "i think" sc 724-70.
I ENDED up taking it out 1st and machine ran ok so pulled all covers off the mini sorter, blew out all sensors and then
wiped out all areas wth a windex paper towel and then lightly sprayed windex on all sensors as i hit them wth air..
    It worked for me..

    Hi.

Had something similar recently. Seems that someone managed to get the 2x black arched paper stoppers (that normally sit on top of the paper table) underneath it, so that the paper table could not move at all. I discovered this when i tried to move the table by hand, and also once i opened the mech that lifts/lowers the table and manually dropped the actuator and the table still did not want to move.

Once the stoppers were in the right place all was well again.
    Press the GREEN button!!

Just wanted to say thanks, because your answer saved me today I picked apart the whole thing looking for a problem, and it turned out to be this.....
Popping the arms back on top of the tray indeed sorted it out.

Wait till you get that assembly broken into 3 pieces and have to figure out how to put it back together again, with all the springs, bushings and feelers

Been there, done that, after that finisher went to recycling company . Lesson learned, always mark take photos for reassembling later. Luckily this time it was enough to dissasemble half of it.
If i had stumbled on this post earlier, and not going by the ricoh remedy list, would not have had to dismantle it this much at all.

I had that occur on a tested mpc3503 wrapped and somehow when it got to my account both stoppers had moved under tray..very odd.
So after pulling unit covers and fixing it all was good.
On any other internal finishers that i deliver i always tape a piece of cardboard between stoppers and tray before shrink wrapping..
