This is happening to a fleet of 14 devices KM devices C308s and C458s.
The initial installation was 17.0 PaperCut, the customer performed an 18.3 upgrade unknowing the advanced settings for the devices where not altered accordingly, this caused SHA1 issues.
The customer installed a new VM Print Server with new queues for the 14 KM devices, this was followed by a new PaperCut 19.02 installation no previous data was migrated. The embedded manual for the devices was followed.
Since the new installation SHA1 issues have stopped. However I have a new issue with the devices which is when they wake from sleep the touch panel, Access and Menu buttons are unresponsive and the card reader does not function; this can only be fixed via a power cycle of the device, I have not discovered a pattern as yet
Previously devices where running the following firmware with functional level 4.2, this however caused FA14 errors on the devices
- C308 - GC1-W4
- C458 - GC1-W5
Since this we have rolled back the firmware to
- C308 (ZeusS 1/2 series) Periodic Firmware release 2, Function version 4.1, OpenAPI 5.1 / IWS 2.5.5 GC3-S1
- C458 (ZeusS Z/X/0 series) Periodic Firmware release 2, Function Version 4.1, OpenAPI 5.1 / IWS 2.5.5 GC3-R9
The FA14 errors appear to have stopped but as mentioned the devices when waking from sleep are not functioning as excepted - touch panel, Access and Menu buttons are unresponsive and the card reader does not scan.
Power Settings for the devices are
Low Power Mode Settings - 15 min.
Sleep Mode Settings - 30 min.
Power Key Setting - Sub Power OFF
Power Save Settings - Sleep
Enter Power Save Mode - Immediately
Power Consumption in Sleep Mode - High
Power Saving Fax/Scan - Standard
Awake from Power Save Mode by Touching Control Panel - ON
I'm assuming this issue is unrelated to Papercut but maybe wrong. Can anyone assist?
