Hi all,

I have a weird one here, customer has a c454e installed on their print server they are also using equitrac, it was all set up a couple of months ago & has been running fine.

However now each morning when they log on they find the printer driver has been deleted on each users machine, their IT dept reinstalls it, all is fine until the next day when they log on in the morning & it has disappeared again.


This is how the customer has reported the fault, they are a very long distance away so am yet to visit the site, however am at a loss as to what could cause this, surely it must be a Windows issue? not the copier side? :(

Any advice would be appreciated.

It would almost have to be a Windows thing. What version of Windows are they using? There is no way a machine can delete drivers from a PC.

How were the drivers added to each PC? Group Policy, add networked shared printer? Is this a terminal services (thin client) setup? Sounds like there may be some kind of policy in place that restricts the amount of time user are able to use the shared device. If you set up a local version of the print driver and add the EQ desktop client (not normally needed) will the drivers remain? Emujo

could be that the configuration gets frozen and loose all gained changes with a scheduled restart.
It's a good way to protect public computers.
