FS-535 running on a C754e

Random jams occurring with a J72-13 code and paper always stops in the same spot. It seems to be getting caught on just the center tooth of the gate that is called part /5 in the paper transport section of the parts manual.

It will only do this when the paper runs long side first but short side first it will never miss a beat.

Thank you for your help in advance!

I apologize I meant the part in the parts manual is listed as "Part /2" in the parts manual...

seen this a dozen times, the spring broke on the solenoid that controls the gate.
i attached the bulletin and i will tell ya, if you have 2 spring hook tools you can just change the pintle and spring and leave the solenoid screwed in. sooo much easier. also pop the whole top off the finisher to get access.

I use a spring hook and an extendable magnet to guide it into place haha. forget taking all that stuff off.

I know that this is an old thread, but I stumbled across it. That bulletin is for 72-19, that applies to 72-13 as well?

72-13 shows the Zfold entrance sensor as the area. Check the solenoid springs anyways, cause even if they're the updated spring they can still fall off the gate.

What did you ever establish with this machine? All springs and gates seem to be in tact and operating as normal....
