Hi everyone, been a while.
I am trying to flash the firmware. I have the firmware (version: MFP-20). I extracted the files to a USB drive plug the drive into the MFP (I even tried second USB port on the back that was covered by tape) in and nothing happens except for the little notification on the LCD after warm-up. I tried half a dozen different drives. Recommended flash drives in the manual were 1gb so I made a 1gb partition on one drive and tried Fat, Fat32 and even NTFS—I doubt this is a partitioning issue, but I tried it anyways. Writing firmware on these machines is very easy--what the *@#$?

Here is why I am fooling with the Frimware:
1) Printing to the MFP has become extraordinarily slow especially with PS drivers (used different computers, different drivers, reset all settings, manually changed the adapter speed, eliminated the network and more).
2) When printing, the image is shifted about 1/4" down the page (toward the operator side) regardless of the tray used and it doesn't happen all the time.
Both of these issues manifested on the same day.

Some more strange behavior:
I formatted the HDD and performed the CF card recovery. Funny thing was after the CF card, the default admin pass (12345678) would not work (I had to manually set it in Tech Rep > Security Sets just to get into admin mode). I then setup the TCP/IP, could ping to it but couldn’t print. Set DHCP on and could print...yes I know what I am doing with TCP/IP.

If you can set up TCP/IP but cannot view the webpage or print I would think that your IC208 print controller is toast. =^..^=

is the firmware correctly placed on the stick?
you also need printer controller firmware G80-35, slow printing and no webpage display in browser thats where i'd start.
you update firmware through ISW in service mode, not boot into it. not like the series of this century.
• Create the BW75_60 or LoadableDeviceDriverROM folder directly under the USB memory route.
• When copying the firmware to the memory, be sure to copy ".bin" file and ".sum" file or ".drv" file
and ".sum" file at the same time.
• Be sure to copy the files of each firmware to the USB memory in the configuration of the folders
shown in the below.
• In bizhub751/601, [Image_controller] folder is not used. (Composition of the folder is common
with bizhub 750/600. )
• If the copying is not completed correctly, a message " The data is not found" is displayed on the
panel when the ISW files are selected.

G80-35 is for "Machines that had replacement-processor boards installed during production can be identified by a square
blue label next to the serial number on both the machine and the shipping carton. "
G00-31 is for the FS-524/FS-610
Here is the doc: 33670
Also, I feel like a total dink...I thought it updated upon power cycle. I am writing the firmware now. Thanks!

Lets hope not, but I got some more testing to do now ;)
*Edit* I can view page scope after I enabled DHCP

This confuses me a little....

PC-32 “Printer Controller Firmware” 1-19-2009
“Printer_controller
57aa000c0g320000.bin / 57aa000c0g320000.sum
57ba000c0g320000.bin / 57ba000c0g320000.sum”
Whereas MFP-20 is called “MFP Firmware” 12-13-2010
“- Printer_controller
57aa000c0g340000.bin / 57aa000c0g340000.sum
57ba000c0g[B]350000.bin / 57ba000c0g350000.sum [bizhub 601]”

The PC-32 is in the base firmware section online, but I think should be a "special firmware" and superseded by MFP-20?

Wrote firmware (MFP-20) and had to format HDD
PS drivers still transfers data in 4kb chunks per second...
