BH-C-353, TB ruptured and CYM drums destroyed. Any known reason why this can happen with less than 200K? There is a TB blade flip but I'm not sure if that happened before or after the calamity. See attached pics.

What can cause a TB to become that much damaged?

i have seen damaged transfer belts but nothing like this. the leftover toner means that the cleaning blade didnt work. maybe paper passed through it? i have seen more than 1 time, customer uses normal trays for labels and they got stuck on it. but i have no idea what caused the rupture.

C353 transfer belts are only rated for 150k yield. That could have contributed to this failure.

I've seen a few catastrophic failures on C554e but I attributed it to the huge volume of printing going through this particular machine. The blade was also flipped on mine, but I could not determine if it was a cause or an effect:

If that bead on the inside of the belt goes...
Caught one just in time.
Had one a couple of days ago. But still why?

I think allan means that 7mm wide plastic strip on the edge of the belt, and it's seamed at some point, the vulnerable spot. =^..^=

As to that bead, yes that is the strip which can come loose when the belt gets its wear in the nicer scenario it just wraps around a drum. In the bad scenario it goes anywhere.

How does the K - 1st transfer roller *(TR) on that belt looks like? Any damage on the bushings for any of the first TR's


What is the coverage of colour? Is the belt set to BW or Colour Priority?
