Hmm, i work for a very large company, but only my branch is a dealer. Do i just count my service department (3) ? Or the company as a whole (close on a thousand employees national) ?

If only three of you deal wit copiers I would say your a small dealership under those circumstances.

Thats what i thought :) There is only myself, my senior tech, and my operations manager. My branch manager does some tech work as well, but it isn't really his job so I don't really count that so much. He fills in when we aren't here.

Cheers

 Only 5 employees. Small computer company that purchased a
smaller copier and printer repair business, where I was a tech, that was sinking fast! Suburban Detroit.
The owner will not invest in selling new copiers, only repairing.

When I started with this company we were the largest independently owned dealership in Texas, and even then we had over a hundred employees in several locations around the state. Now we are a subsidiary of Toshiba, and the headquarters for TBS-TX/NM and I have no clue how much bigger we have become. However, the office I work out of still "feels" like it did when I started here. I have no clue what it is like to work for a smaller company since this is the only place I have ever worked as a copier tech.. In a past life I was into HVAC and refrigeration. I like this much better ... not as physically demanding.

I work for a small but VERY busy dealership that only sell and service Ricoh.
My time is spilt between service work and connectivity setups.

I belong to a private company with 30+ copier techs, as many computer techs, phone and cable techs. 4 branches spread out across the state.

"My" territory has more then 1000+ machines that I maintain myself. Last official count was 980 not including the many HP's but it has grown.

We are a parts vendor - copier, printers, & fax parts. Just shy of 50 people total here, but thats counting sales people. So I voted medium, but small if you count only techs.

We're a franchised dealer, but the service manager, the service tech, the delivery person, the parts guy, and the dispatcher are all me. Currently 400 printers, and 80 or so MFPs. We have 5 sales people, but there main focus is in other areas of the business. Copiers is a sideline, but growing fast. =^..^=

we have 3 engineers, all of us left handed, yet all the equipment we work on are designed for right handed people. Is that some kind of discrimination, can I sue?

I too am left handed, living in a right handed world!:confused:I want minority status (rights) because of it.:) We could have a class action law suit.:D

Try shooting a M16 left handed. The hot shell casings fly right into your face and back. Got a nice burn scar on my back, from the rifle range, when I was in USMC bootcamp.

Really though us left handers should not complain. Everyone knows that left handed people are in their right mind:p:):D

I guess I'll chime in on this thread. I work for TBS TX/NM. The company became a subsidiary of Toshiba about three years ago; I've been with them for 8 years. Got a bunch of folks working out of our office ... so many I am always seeing someone I don't know. Us techs all know each other, though, and out of OUR office there's 15 techs.

Cheers.

i worked 5 years on a small bussines selling and servicing almost all kinds of copier's and printers we sould most old Lanier aka Toshiba 2060 and so ... and afther a whil0e new Sharp digital. Last year i leaved that company and started my own with my wife witch makes the paper work and i emploed on of my old ''tech'' with a part time and another new student wich is trainig on Sharp couse we have a lot of them.
My old boss is out of bussines since i left and they are going for air conditioning bussines right now so i got almost all the old clients.
we have a preaty big ranged customers and kind a hard not to lose them sing is hard to ride 300 km for few machines and this crises is kind a hiting hard our relativity new democration like ours, Romania.
