Which model Fiery? All the system software is available for download on the KM tech site...be prepared for a long wait...4Gb files. If you have the original document pack that came with the Fiery, a system software DVD is supplied. For the downloaded software, you need to have a dvd burner with ability to burn image(iso file).

It is a model PRO80-02. I don't have access to the Konica Minolta site so I can't download from there. My friend has access to it and tried finding it before and couldn't.

the IC303/305 etc are shipped with recovery dvd's check your pack that came with the device.

It must be an IC-408. The IC-303 has an EFI name of PRO80-S450. Your friend needs to search the KM tech site with the KM model names for the fiery, not EFI's naming scheme.

It's definately not the IC-408 because it is a stand alone one not embedded. I am pretty sure it is the IC-305. I looked and we definately don't have the origional DVD that came with it.

you will need the system dvd and the user dvd to do a complete re-install.

Since you don't have the original system software DVD that came with the IC-305, your only option is to have your friend download the iso file from the KM tech site(SSD). He'll need to go to drivers and software downloads, select "Color Products" in the first block, "IC-305" in the second block, and "System Code" in the third block. Version 2.0 is a 3.25GB download, and version 1.1 is a 3.19GB download. Then, of coarse, there are all the patches associated with each version to download and upload to the IC-305 after the software install.

Then it must be an IC-305 my list doesn't show that for a C6500 but it looks like it will work.http://www.geocities.com/pepper38_cnd/IC305.jpg

It looks like the IC303 and IC305 use the same firmware V1.11 and there is a V2 available for the IC305 do you know what version you had are still able to check it or is it dead?

It is definately the IC-305. I don't know what version it had before. I don't think I can get the version from it because the LCD screen doesn't show anything on the screen. I can try connecting the external monitor to it again to see if it says the version there. Does it matter what version we load. Do we need to load one and then the next and then the patches. What order do you do it in.

I'm not sure about that controller but many require a kit to upgrade from 1.11 to 2 if you load the wrong version ( your Bios doesn't support it ) you will get a License error and be in operable. This is not the end of the world you can reload the proper version. My advise if you are uncertain would be to load 1.11
I just realized that for some reason my web site is down right now, but when it comes up go there and download the system code for your controller I will Pm you with the password. the site is in my signature below.

Hello,

I'm fiery specialist what is exactly your problem?
to upgrade an IC305 from V1.11 to V2.0 there is no licence required.

To have an image on monitor you need the FACI option, but, without this option you can see the boot, after that the screen goes black.

If you have any image during the boot maybe your problem is not the software but the power supply, hard disks ...

If you only want to upgrade your Fiery, Maybe an EFI dealer can help you

Please, let me know what's appends excatly.

Kind regards,

Twinax

What happens is when you turn it on it doesn't show anything on the built in LCD screen at all. You can only see anything when you connect an external monitor.

Hi,
How old is your controller?
There are several causes, and the HDD is one of them, but first you need to check the controller hardware. Do that in this following order :
Open your controller and check that the power supply is OK (Green led (or red) lighting on the main board).
After that switch off the controller and remove the main plug.
Remove all IDE board (like engine interface), remove HDD and memories (note where those ones are placed).
Remove all external connections (mousse, keyboard, screen...)
Connect the main plug and switch on the controller, if the main board is correct they are some bips (Ti..TI..ti) to indicate that the memories are out (missing) . It means that our main board is ok. (note : if no bip ! means that: first the power supply can be defect (less expansive) , or the main board itself (more expansive). If a microprocessor is defect it is very hard to know. don't remove this (those) ones.
Put the memories back. (of course switch off)
At this step you can connect a screen and check the boot on it, it stops at "No system disk"
Switch off the controller and replug the HDD unit.
Switch on, you will heard some noise on DVD reader and also on the HDD, if not the HDD is defect.
The most of time, in this case the software is not involved that mostly the HDD. (power down at customer site during ripping)

Of course you need a new HDD and software.
I hope that this information can help you.
(Sorry I'm French my english is not quite well).
Kind regards,
Twinax

this sounds like the motherboard. i have repaired hundreds of fierys and think that you should get a qualified tech out to fix yours. it could turn into a money pit type of thing to try and fix yourself!

They come with it. Look in the box, minus that... you can get it off of Konica's web site under the "system code" area.

When you burn the DVD PLEASE BE SURE TO BURN THE DISK AT A LOW SPEED!! I've had some (ok a few) error out when ya burn them "fast" be sure to select a VERY slow speed. Like 2x maybe 4x for a DVD.

The fiery being discussed is probably a very new Pro80. The new type has 6 USB ports on the back; the Pro80 version 1 only had 4 USB's on the back.

You will need Fiery version 3.0 for this hardware as the older Fiery versions do not work on this thing.
