Yes you can used it, the C6501 is the same only the
amount is bigger in the bottle.

So one would assume that the reverse would also be OK?

i.e. 6501 toner in a 6500?

If so , might have to investigate the cost per gram (ounce)

Cheers

The only thing that needs to be done is cut one nip off the 6500 toner bottle so it keys into the machine. Other than that the difference is nothing. 6501 is completely awesome from color to everything else fixed from the 6500.

I have noticed a difference in skew between both machines, anyone else noticed this.

We have only noticed skew on some stocks typically Junk 100# 12x18 Gloss cover. Other than that all other sizes and weights are dead on. We eliminated the skew on 100# by going to 13.6 x 19.2 paper size. No place for the paper to go but straight.

Hi does the 6501 fit straight in the 6500 then with no mods ?

thanks

i have a question about those plastic nibs....

which model needs you to snip the nibs off?

from what i'm getting is

c6501 - no nibs
c6500 - nibs?

this is worrying because one 6501 model takes toner bottles with these nibs, and the other model we have does not (also a 6501 however).

Also, from what I understand. The C6501 has a skew tolerance of 1mm FTB. the C6500 claimed one of around 2-4mm FTB. Much improved on the c6501. I continually hear the c6500 referred to as a copier class machine rather than a digital press which i find interesting (other technicians i work with).

TN-612 has three tabs and the TN-610 has two. The TN-612 will run in the bizhup PRO C6500 (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=c6500) but you need to cut of the middle tab of the three. 20331

Both have the same grams of toner as listed on the box. 20330

I just ran a full CMYK set of the TN-612 in my C6500 (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=c6500). Supposedly the C6501 has a higher yield per toner then the C6500 so I wanted to determine if it would also work on the C6500.

On the same job I was able to get ~40K out of the black with the TN-610 but only ~35K with the TN-612. The color production is equivalent using the TN-612 over the TN-610 though I think the
TN-612 was 5-10% lighter which could probably be improved with an adjustment.

I needed to increase my yield by 22% to make it worth spending the extra money on the TN-612 over the Tn-610. My results proved that it was better to stick with the less expensive TN-610 Toner.

FYI- I do run the DU-104 Drums which are intended for the C6501 in my C6500. They have a replacement interval of 300K rather then the 200K of the DU-102 drums and ~ the same in price.

I have a customer running the Ikon toner in a C6500 with no issues at all. £23 (Ikon) a bottle versus £40 (KM) a bottle is a no brainer.
