420i / Small Business Server SMTP issues

I have come to a halt on a 420i that I am setting up the smtp server on. I am receiving a 3201 error. The customer is using small business server 2008. I have turned on/off SSL using port 587. We know that it finds the server because we are getting an authentication error in return. He does have another piece of software that uses the exact same settings as the 420i and it works, so I am at a complete loss…. Any pointers would be appreciated. Does anyone happen to know what method of authentication the 420i uses when sending out to an smtp server? Thanks!

Thanks a lot tmaged, that worked! The one thing that is not listed in that TECHnet forum is you have to restart the service or restart the server housing the SMTP relay for it to work. Thanks Again!
