Minolta Di550 produces fading copies

Hi,

Well, i have a Konica Minolta DI550, and recently it started making "fading" copies, although the toner is fairly full and the drum is still new, Please see the following image, Is it the developer?

It could be the charge, the transfer, the developer...Stop the machine in the middle of a copy and see what it looks like on the drum. If the image is solid on the drum, then you have a transfer issue. Drums and developer usually go the same on a Minolta, why was the developer not changed if the drum is new?

Thanks for the answer, i don't know where the transfer is as i'm not really familiar with the machine parts in english, btw, we didn't just bought the machine, we replaced the drum with a new one. what do you think?

Is that a copy from the glass or an internal print test page? If from the glass then maybe your optics need a good clean. If same from glass and internal print I would be looking at cleaning transsep wires, etc. You might need to do an F5 . And if the drum was replaced I would add my comments to "fixthecopier". Sometimes just scraping the corona wires very gently can improve. One thing you can try is spooning some toner into the dev box and see if that makes a difference.

The transfer is what pulls the image off the drum. If you still do not know, then you should call a tech.

Hmm, i can't even find that transfer on google, is it the corona? i would totally appreciate an image url. i did what you've told me ( stopping the machine in the middle of the copy ) and it's not solid on the drum, thanks a lot

If it is not solid on the drum, it could be the charge corona that sits above the drum. It may need a new grid and new corona wires.

If you replaced the drum, did you reset the drum counter?

What about internal test prints? Looks like dirty optics as previously suggested .

Thank you all for your help, although the problem is that the sponge joint was stuck inside the developer box and it avoids the ink to go through to the paper. Thanks again to everyone here.
