Hi,

Thanks for answering the question about what the C0996 code means! Now how do I make it go away? When I first pressed the "push" button on the bottom tray, I heard it click a few times and it didn't open. The error code appeared. I pressed it again and assisted the tray in opening, but the code won't go away. I've cut the power and unplugged, etc. Can't make it go away. Please help!

Yes man....ask mister MANUALS4YOU

-- check that the voltage on PJ10A-6 (PF-115 PWB-A) changes from 24vdc to 0vdc when the Descent key is pressed. If the voltage changes, it is possible that S112 is defective. If no change in voltage, check for continuity between the solenoid and the PWB-A.The connectors on PWB-A should be reseated before replacement.

-- Random C-099x codes (including C-0990, C-0994, C-0996, C-0997, C-0998, and C-099C) are displayed with the PF115. When the codes are re-set, the
copier works properly for a short time but the codes return.
Solution
PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. Irregular operation of front door interlock switches in the copier. Please replace the front door interlock switches in the copier. For the Di450/Di550, the part number of the front door interlock is 9331-2710-11, and the part number for the Di470 interlock switch is 9331-1810-21.
2. A sensor failure. Check and replace any sensors, as necessary.
3. Poor connections. Re-seat connectors and inspect for shorts, etc.
4. Lift motor failure. Check and replace the lift motor, if necessary

Thanks for the reply. I ended up fixing it by opening the doors and power cycling a few times. It originated on my machine because the power strip was jammed under the bottom tray door. Thanks for your reply!

there is one gear in the lifting mechanism that you can not avoid. I don't have the part number off hand. but what happens is this gear will round out. and the tray will just not lift. you may have got it to reset this time. but eventuallly you or someone else will have to take the cover off. and remove all those gears. to find the big black one (in the back) at least that has happened to me lots
