Ok, we have a new customer that bought a C252 and wants me to set up his machine to scan to e-mail (unfortunately for me, he read in the brochure that the machine can do that :)) ) .
I have never done this before - could someone help me a little bit?
Is it enough to have a router, and to set up on the machine the gateway and the dns adresses?

Thanks!

Tell him he needs IT to work with you. Need to fill in SMTP hostname or address, might need authentication, if they are running active directory you might need to add the copier as a user, you need to have an on-site email server or same vlan. (needs to be bob@xyzcompany.com not bob@yahoo.com)

The machine can scan to email, but won't work on every network. Have him scan to folder and attach to email. Best not to screw around on someone's network if you're unsure

Ok, thanks.. it seems complicated, but not impossible.
He can already scan to folder, that's simple... and yes, I think he has an e-mail for the company (e.g. bob@xyzcompany.com like you said)..

Thanks!
