Hi All,

Scan to Email on a bizHub C253... For the life of me I can't get it to work...

It's scanning to an Exchange 2007 Server on Windows Server 2008, located at a different office over a permanent site to site VPN. Both offices can ping the c253 perfectly with no issues.

Have tried with No Authentication, With Authentication, SSL Off, Start TLS and Full SSL. Have even created a dedicated Receive Connector on the Exchange Server with Anonymous Authentication but still cannot get the unit to Scan to Email.

What is the error you are getting?

Server Connection Error... That's all it says...
No further description from there :(

Take the MFP off the network. Put a laptop on the same port and give it the exact IP scheme as the copier. Try to telnet the server using the correct port. "server connect error" means the MFP cannot connect with the server in question. Could be port issues, firewall setting using the VPN. Emujo

Stupid question, but you have enabled the SMTP relay in Exchange right? Do you have any other MFP's that use this server to send email? Maybe authentication is set too strong on Exchange as well?

Try pinging the exchange server from the copier, and be SURE the time is correct on the copier! Date as well. Also, you have an admin email inputted.

Thank you very much about the date/time thing. I had a machine located in 2041. I warned the operator about the possibility of the machine being a T-1000 disguised as a C300.

Reps to you!
