I have a Konica Minolta 6501 that another dealer put a entire new transfer unit in last week because of a broken shaft on a upper roller that drives the belt. Today I visited the machine for 3503 error codes and when I got there the same shaft was broken. I know the code I was dispatched on doesn't have anything to do with the shaft but has anyone seen this problem (drive shaft breaking)? If so what is the cause?
On the 3503 code it is high temp and I already replaced the upper and lower thermistors. Any ideals there?

The drive shaft sheers off due to the pin on the mc side not lining up properly when putting the process unit back in and stresses it.
The C6000-7000 has a modified drive coupling which stops that problem. It can be fitted to the 5500-6500, 5501-6501 !

Thanks Rich, is the pin on the process unit? So does it align itself into a hole in the back frame? Do you have the part number for the modified coupler?

Drive is from the rear of the mc, its simply a shaft with a pin through it. Don't know if the modified coupling will fit, best bet is to order a C6000 transfer assembly , it comes fitted to it already, that's what I would do.

The coupling from C6000 will not fit in a C6501, in my opinion. Your best bet is to order the new code for the drive shaft. The old model came with a e-ring, the new model came with a white spacer. Also, the coupling part it is not fixed. Check out the screen captures.
