i get abort code 0000999e and i had to replace NVRAM

What does it have to do with firmware? If it isn't working after replacing NVRAM, what are the symptoms?

Don't you know that a firmware upgrade fixes everything?;)

If you've ever called the hotline, that's what they'll tell you, in this order:

1) firmware
2) main board
3) next most expensive part on the machine

Blackcat you must have called one of the u.k helplines because your semi sarcastic ( I assume ) post is exactly what we get here !!!:)

"You need to upgrade the firmware" seems to be the stock answer to whatever problem you currently encounter.
Closely followed by "It must be the main board then" if upgrading the firmware hasn't fixed it.

The fact that it has worked perfectly well with the original firmware for god knows how long is not relevant:confused:

But the best one is when you hear the parting shot of, "When you find out what was causing it, will you give me a ring back and let me know" from the supposed technical helpline / field specialist / manufacturer employee who wishes to look good if he ever encounters the same symptoms in the future.

And they always have access to an endless supply of £££££££ worth of boards, parts etc that us poor sods in the real world have to order and pay for in the hope that one of their "wild guesses" at what may be the actual cause, fixes the problem:mad:

Rant over

"You're the only one having this problem." when you've talked to four other dealers that can't solve the same problem either.

"So what! It still needs solving, whether I'm the only one or not." =^..^=

I have seen this problem many times. Here is the information from a Konica Minolta solution (I have had all 4 of these items cause this symptom).

Subject:
Machine keeps rebooting with abort code 0x0000999A.

Description:
Machine keeps rebooting with abort code 0x0000999A.

Solution:
PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. Failed fax board interfering with operation of MFBS.
Replace fax board kit, FK-503.

2. There is a TCP/IP address conflict between the MFP and another device on the network.
Remove the Ethernet cable from the MFP and PING the TCP/IP address. If the PING succeeds,
speak with the Network Administrator and resolve the TCP/IP address conflict.

3. Possible damaged MFBS board and/or MEMS module located in slot 4 (CN4).
Replace the MFBS board and/or MEMS module.

4. Print jobs are in queue for the machine on the customer's print server.
If there are jobs in the queue, please disconnect the machine from the network, delete the jobs on
the server and reconnect the machine to the network.
