Canon LC-3170 Reception problem

We have a customer with an LC-3170 that intermittantly cuts off half of an incoming fax.This happens from different senders. We replaced the phone line and the toner cartridge. They say it still happens from time to time but not as much. Any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like a staticy phone line to me, Bil. Is it long distance? As a test I would dial a long distance prefix, i.e.: 10288 for ATT long distance. If it sends faster, better, more complete, etc. you've got your answer. =^..^=
