do u have a imagePass E1 connected ? if so>>

In service mode >level 1 >copier >display >ACC-STS, check to see if RAM for the Main Controller is at 768MB. If RAM is only at 512MB, which is standard for the copier version of the IR C3100, the optional 256MB DRAM needs to be added to the Main Controller to support the operation of the ImagePass-E1.
The optional 256MB of DRAM should come with the ImagePass-E1. If the optional 256 MB of DRAM needs to be ordered you can used Sales Item # 8350A002AA.

The networked version of the IR C3100 comes standard with 768MB of DRAM on the Main Controller.
If the copier has 768MB of DRAM on the Main Controller, the bank of 256MB of DRAM may be bad. Remove, clean contacts and re-seat the bank of 256MB of DRAM.

E604 -The image memory (SDRAM) is faulty/insufficient-
