Have been reading these forums for sometime now and finally decided to join and post.
I have a CLP-315 about 2 years old. It worked great until it started getting the standard paper jam issue. This is clearly the exit sensor issue with these models. After a month of random paper jams, and constantly pulling paper from the printer, it stopped working all together.
When it turns on, the motor immediately makes a clicking sound and stops. As expected the status LED light turns red. It's not recognized by a computer, which makes it impossible to see any errors the SmartPanel. My only thought is the constant pulling of the paper jam may have damaged the pickup roller or the main motor.
Wanted to get some opinions from some "professionals" on what may cause the printer to only create a clicking sound when it turns on.
