I have a customer with a C252 who just upgraded their Mac from an older os to OS X 10.8.2. I have heard the newer Mac's don't work with SMB, but I have very few Macs, so I was hoping to get some advice on what to do from some of you experts on this forum. Does KM have an FTP utility for Macs? or are there ways to make the SMB work (SMB scanning was set up and working on the computer before they upgraded, so the folder and 1 touch are already there)
I have heard there is a generic utility you can download that will work, any truth to this?
This is a small office with the one Mac and one pc.

i was not able to get smb to work on 10.7.4, but create a folder in the pc and share access to that folder from the mac.

10.7 onwards use a different SMB client, which is not compatible with older km machines.

c203/253/353/c451/550/650 etc have special firmware available for it to work, anything older your out of luck.

you will need to enable, and setup FTP scanning on the 10.8 machine to work with the c252, OR use email scanning.

Hey EarthKmTech, would you know which special FW it was for the 203-650 range?

wouldn't have a clue, but if your search mac 10.7 smb using the km portal for technicians you should be able to find it.

I've used it and it works perfectly.

The SMB protocol is different.

I use Rumpus software.
This is not cheap/free but really does the trick

Kind regards
