One of my fellow Technicians brought this to my attention the other day and i was wanting your guy's opinion. The B2232042 PCU is for the C3500/C4000 and the B2242042 is for the C2500. The call he had was on a C2500 and our stickers for both PCU's said that they would both fit the C2500. He tried the B223 and the front covers were different, the front joint, which holds the drum and dev unit together, are totally different and the dev unit and the drum will not go together at all. He went and got the B224 and it was the correct one. I talked to my service manager who said that B223 does change to B224 in OMD and that our parts dept. confirmed that and also said that they only change it if/when Ricoh changes it. Its obvious that the drums are different. The pictures show just the front covers and the differences. I have not called Ricoh yet, wanted your input first.

the top front cover is for the C3500/C4000 and the bottom one is for the C2500.

B2242042 fits em both.

so you can put the B223 into the C2500? dont see how that is possible due to the fact the the connectors are not the same and the rear of both PCU's have different holes and shafts...

The old covers won't fit on the new drums B2242042, they are more in line with the newer models now. Two screws holding the bracket for the dev unit. These drums fit mpc 2500/3000/3500/4500. If you're fitting moded black drums, you'll have to peel the sticker off the colour drum cover and stick it on the new drum, only the first time though.....:)

PS. if your try and order B2232042, you gonna get a B2242042 anyway....

Also, the mpc4000 takes a completely different drum, unless you were refering to the mpc4500?

ok, cant use the old covers on new drums, check
gotta us two screws for the bracket, check
i was refering to the mpc 4500, sorry...

now, i have logged into the TSRC forum and they seem to be having issues also with the dev unit being twisted and not lining up correctly while others say that they are having no problems. i guess I/we will just have to do more mods in the field.

so they will work though, you just have to modify accordingly?

They can be a bugger sometimes to line up, as you have to line up the back and front in little slots, a bit like the newer models too.
