Hey guy,
long time reader first time poster here !

Just got my hands on C364 and man is it slow to print on !

All the PC's in the office prints just fine to it, all the later Mac's also (Intel 10.7 and 10.8)
BUT wen I try to print with a PowerPc Mac I have to wait 1min to 2min for the dialog to show up and then wen I press print an other minute just to free up the computer.

Can any one help me ?

I tried all the drivers I could find, I tried setting it up VIA bonjour instead of IP .... I'm out of ideas.

Regards !

Matt

When you had it setup up to print via IP, did you use LPR (LPD) or the HP JetDirect Socket?

I would try with the HP JetDirect Socket as this will then print to the machine via RAW port 9100.

Hi TheOwl, thanks for helping me.
I just tried seting it up via HP jetdiect, and the print dialog still takes a long time to appear.
I was wondering if, since this is a PowerPC Mac, can their be a Intel Driver and Classic Driver ?
Maybe I'm using the wrong one ?
I'm currently using version 1.1.2

Thanks !

There is also an Intel based 10.5.x driver available for your machine in question.

Do you only have one 10.5 machine on the network, or do you have a few but only one with a problem?

I have many machines on the network ranging from OS X 10.4 to 10.8 and PC's from Win 2000 to 7,
the only machines I have issues with are the Classic Mac OS ones (10.5.8 down, non intel) ...
Unfotunately many of those machines (5 in total) cannot be upgraded due to software compatibility.

Have you considered using a print server if you are running Mac OSX Server or a Windows Server?

I have never configured a Print Server nor considered it. Not sure if it would help on the speed to open the dialog.

I just read on the Konica Minolta tech site that this problem is occuring on Mac 10.4 which should be almost the same as 10.5.

The resolution for this one is to run the following driver versions:

bizhub C754 Series: v1.4.0
bizhub C554 Series: v1.2.0
bizhub C364 Series: v1.2.0

There could be a possibility that it isn't publically released yet.

If the machine is under contract with a service provider, then give them a call and see what they can find for you.
