Hi I have a C-552 that offsets the colors. I tried with the transfer unit and the black unit, the problem is intermittent and it's driving me crazy. Have you any idea , thanks.

Note: the translation is from google, sorry.

Hi, check the idc shutter mechanism, if the linkage is stiff, the sensors will remain covered while the door is closed.

Couple of things to try:

Try cleaning the write unit off. If you have any developer dumping it will get on write unit windows and cause this. You may have to pull write unit out to clean it off properly.
If you are getting the oil can light with P-14 code, do the skew adjustment reset procedure for the write unit.
If you are getting the oil can light with P-21 or P-22 codes, check and clean IDC sensors and make sure the shutter is opening closing properly.

With those 2 codes you are looking at the main drive assy now. May need to replace it.

Are the colors off only when copying or printing multiple copies? If so check the fuser loop sensor located on the frame below the fusing unit. It sticks and causes offsetting colors.

Hi p31 is soilage on the main drive encoder sensors, when left unchecked, the problem develops into 225b, this can only be resolved by replacing the dcpu, but make sure you clean the sensors otherwise you will over time have to replace the dcpu again.
