Hello all

Got this error recently, steps taken so far are trouble reset, and I've replaced the fuser with a back up unit. Still getting the code. Are there any more steps to take before opening the machine to replace the PCRB/OCRB?

If it was just thermister 1 acting funky I would have thought my back up unit would have solved the issue.

any help is welcome!

Did you set Switch 3 Bit 1 back to 0 ???

check your fuser connectors for bent or broken pins. Make sure connectors are not loose.

I am assuming the 1st reply is a way of saying "did you do a trouble reset"?? code won't go anywhere until you do a trouble reset

Thank you for the responses guys, I haven't done the dip switch, but I have done trouble reset through the service mode and on start up.

I'll try the switch, check connectors again and then report back.

UPDATE:

Set dip switch 3-1 to 0, no dice.

trouble reset again, no dice.

checked connectors on the fusing unit, I.E. the pins in the back of the unit + the ones on the machine, they look fine.

moving forward with PRCB replacement :(

I don't believe so, then again I don't know an easy way to trick the machine and look internally to see it light up. I don't hear either fixing roller start to spin when it powers on. And I've been cautious when powering on by hitting the main switch, waiting a bit and then hitting the sub switch on the console. It throws the code pretty much immediately.

You might Ohm out both thermistors, yellow leads better then white.

Never had luck removing crud from them safely.

Load check is #45 1-6 only run for a short bit (5-7 seconds) then touch upper fuser roller to test for heating.

Load check gives me nothing, no noise or start up of the fuser and it has no heat. Tried it multiple times to no avail.

at this point I've replaced the PCRB board and I still get c-3901.

So the last thing to try is OCRB and then?

thanks to everyone for the replies and have a Marry Christmas.

Hi hope up to now you solve this matter don't take it serious its feeling like fixing unit is out of machine put it back then reset trouble hahaha its funny han.
Dear simple matter your heating lamps are not getting power reason might be thermal fuse wiring there is a power supply unit check up to now this machine have no issue like this

You would be able to feel the heat on the rollers after startup.

Hello, did your friend handle this C 3901 error? Because I have the same problem and I can not do anything. It deletes the error and changed another fuscher and I changed the PCRB, and even the motherboard from another machine and the error goes back over and over again.
