Does anybody know how to clear the "replace fuser unit soon" message?

I did replace the cleaning web and the UFR is still good. I did clear all the fuser related counters.

Thanks for the help.

Yea, the search function on the site does not work very well.

This link gave me the solution.

Those are some long PM jobs with those machines.

Kits are huge.

Do you know the life of these machines?
I guess it should be 2M+.

Being for the most part being a sped up 7020.....I doubt it would reach those #s.

Our highest count 501, is like 750k currently.

Be careful with the charge coronas, both wires are on a single plastic pin. And they will break easily.

I compared it to a Ricoh 3045 when i first worked on it so i had a immediate dislike in them.

The B501 can be very time consuming as mentioned, but they run very cheap and i never had any nail biting experiences with them they seem to behave and there is very little toner spilling.

Also the readings was between 300K and 900K never had to reset a fuser before.

Does anybody know if there is a way to remove the paper dust cleaner or is that thing as deep in there as it seem to be?

^^^^ IIRC it has a release clip or two, then up and pulls away off plastic rib (like the 7020)

Wait till you get a 2403 code. Or have to replace broken Fuser drive gears. I have seen a couple over 1m. Don't last much longer than that.

Ok, 1 screw in front thru the cover to remove the cleaner and the suction parts.
easy if there is time to have a look.

^^^ You have the later production 1 model that some have the cover to access toner rotation sensor..... and the improved fuser gears.

Have dealt with both on 420/500s.
