L6200 Wifi problem

I recently installed a L6200 and it is connected through WLAN. Any time it goes into deep sleep or is powered off, it loses connection.
I've tried to click the wifi button but that just makes the machine attempt to connect but eventually timed out. This means I have to manually input the wifi password every time.
Is there a way to fix this? Or make the machine remember the network settings?

P.S. I have given the machine a static IP, I don't know if this would make a difference.

Try updating the firmware.

there is no service update for an HL-L6200 with Wifi problems.. are you sure it is showing up on the PC?
