    It's really hard to justify a bill when you have that hands-off, zero-risk policy.

    If they've got a contract, you're obligated to prove that the machine can print. Since you've offered mainly verbal advice I don't think you can bill for that. The good news is, the next time you won't need to spend quite so much time fishing. Within 10 minutes you can crossover to your laptop and prove that either it prints or it doesn't. If you plan on writing a bill, you'll need to get past your hands-off policy. =^..^=
    If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    HI No. They have no contract. If customer had deleted and reinstalled software on my initial visit ,the printer wasn't indicating a problem with network connection open .the problem would have been taking care of and working.He could have just as easily called his IT guy,but he knows they charge more so he called me first.If there was a problem short of the main board on first visit,I would more than likely have fixed it,HENCE I agree to disagree with you Thanks Andy
