Brother MFC 9970 cdw op panel

Hi all its been a while. I'm sure this is probably an easy one but I can't seem to figure it out, please help.
I can not figure out how to remove the control panel on this machine, it looks like I need to remove the scanner but it looks like there are screws under the control panel that need to be removed first.
Please what am I missing?
I need to remove it for a code of CE, I found out that is for the control panel.

The actual surface of the panel removes by unhooking. Then there are 4 screws underneath. The bottom edge of the lower part of the panel is hooked. Once it is unhooked it can be lifted away and the harness unplugged.
