    Any print coverage calculator software?

Is there any simple software that lets me open a single or multi page document and tell me the coverage % for each color for the entire document?

I had found one but it only gave the coverage for each individual page I believe, I want one that can tell me the coverage per page averaged for the entire document to help calculate my costs.

    Thanks

It's quite simple, actually. First of all, you need one of these:

Then you need to look at the page and count the individual pixels row-by-row and take note of the color on that pixel, and add them up like so:

    - One blue pixel = 1C 1M
    - One brown pixel = 1C 1M 1Y
    - One red pixel = 1Y 1M

And so on, you get the drill.

At the end, you just add up all the C, M, Y and K pixels you got and divide them for the total number of pixels, and that will give you the individual coverage for each colour.

We all do it like that where I work. Works better than the software-based calculators that come on every machine, and we know it's correct because we do it ourselves!

    M4Y: Check the signature - it's a spammer! Ignore.

As to your comment, I usually say: "Well, I see you're smoking something good and you don't want to share it with the rest of us! "

    Hi,

Have a look at our Printcalc, our coverage tool at www.printcalc.com

We have an online tool that reports the % CMYK and Spot Colour coverage for a whole document and for each page (PDF, EPS or PS)
