I take it that You are A+ and Net+ Certified?
Those would be a couple of the certs I carry.
Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. ~Theodore Roosevelt
Well, I heard the bad news today. Only 1 Person in our marketplace (out of 40 who took level 2) made it through to the Stage 3 event next month, and it was not Me.
Looks like I'm just a dumb old toner jockey after all.
We got the news here too. Not good for me either, but our marketplace did pretty good.
Well, I guess I need to work on my skills for next year. It is too bad they won't even tell us what our score was, or even a general idea.
I thought I did pretty well, and who knows, the winners could have all had a 95% score or higher.
It only makes sense that with soooo many people taking the test, and with only 60 questions, that you probably were out if you missed more that just a couple, if any.
I have been told that the tie breaker is how much time you took for the test.
That makes sense. I took all but 3 seconds. I was trying to research some answers on the fly. Bad Idea.
I guess the whole purpose of this is to put out a small "Possible Reward", and try and get 5000 technicians to try all year to improve their skills hoping that they can be one of the 0.5% that actually get a reward. Nice for those that win, but the tech's that have been around awhile, see the reality....
All of bad the bad Technicians in my area have been weeded out. We all work harder than ever, and are under extreme stress. It seems much more appropriate to reward everyone, than to give such a big reward to a rare few. This seems to always be Managements idea though.
This company is so cheap, that your tenure awards now consist of a couple extra paid days off at 20 and 25 years!! Every tech in my area HATES THIS. Basically, giving Me a day off costs the company no "Additional Expense", and it doesn't affect My manager, or anyone up the chain, It only affects my BACKUP TECH. and my customers.
Is anyone else just plain sick of all the increasing pressure being put on us???
