    theengel, you mention you had good results with the 42xx & 43xx models. These models are the exception and fusers seem to hold up. These were probably the last good printers made by HP. A little noisy with the gears but overall a workhorse.

    The M600 series is loosely based on that engine. I don't have enough of these machines under me to give it a fair judgement though. But you're right--the 4200's were exceptional machines.

    The M600 is based more on the "P" series. Very close to the Laserjet P4014. A little better then 4014 but still has a fuser sleeve instead of an UFR. Some of the same issues, i.e. premature fuser failure, jamming, paper tray cracking, etc,etc
