Them were the days when they were just copiers, rather than MFP's or More F******g Problems!

Life would be so easy without computers.

I still call them copiers, I'm too old to change now, but I find more and more customers are calling them MFD's

It depends on the machine and options it supports. If it does not support fax for instance, technically it is not a mfp. But most machines today are mfp, so i would say MFP. I think technical people who are involved with sales, service and support uses mfp and the general public still knows them as copiers.

I say copier you say MFP. Agree to disagree?

We have copiers and printers in just about everyone of our customer's locations. So when I call the customer about the copier, the say "oh, the printer". I have to bite my tongue to keep from saying "printers, print;copiers, copy". MFP and MFD will always be an industry term. Cast my vote for calling a duck…a duck.

Why do we have MFPs next to high volume printers? Because that's what the customer wanted.

Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

By the way, I call them a box to other techs and machine to customers.

Walk in the door and say "copy guy" they know what I am talking about.

Worked then and still works now.
