PC850 Light Copies

How do we get into service mode on this little PC850? Client complains about light copies and we put in a new cartridge, same result. I believe the exposure is out of whack as we can manually go darker and it is fine.

is there an additional functions button? press that and then scroll to change exposure. or set the copier to make dark copies and then go into additional functions and store the setting
it should be a user setting not a service setting
maybe it just needs the mirrors cleaned. or laser innards are dirty.
Is it in a dirty environment. Maybe the cartridge is bad, maybe the used the wrong toner etc. is it generic toner?

Open up the copier and adjust the three position slide switch located below the operation panel. This usually does the trick. If not you will have to go through a procedure to adjust the optics which involves removing the operation panel and shorting out some links on the pcb.
