Horizontal lines from IR c3380

Looking for a second opinion on the attached image.

Background: used a non-canon toner and began seeing lighter images. Figured that is just something to do with the toner and ignored it, we just ran copies darker (btw it printed from PC fine, it was just copies). Now I have started to see these horizontal lines at the top of my pages. Thinking the issues are unrelated. Regrading the lines, I took the unit open vacuumed it out a bit, which helped for a small period of time, like 50 copies. I'm thinking drum issue, but I was hoping someone here may be able to confirm that before we spend the money on it.

If this doesn't happen when printing and only happens when you copy. The only possibility is the optics.

Point of clarity: the lightness issue does not happen when printing, only when copying. The horizontal lines happen all the time, printing or copying.

does the lightness happen when you copy of the ADF and the glass ?

I'm gunna have to agree with you and say the drum unit also.

It's present in either copies, adf or flat glass, and prints as well.
