    ir3570 persistent jam on PS10

    Hi everybody,

I hope somebody can help me here, as I'm running out of ideas.

I have an issue on ir3570. It constantly jams 0101 on ps10, either stationary or delay.
Paper is always stuck half way through the fuser.

Unit already got gray vertical path rollers (FB6-4852) and upgraded lower door assy (FM3-1296).

I've put new registration sensors (FL2-6580) and swapped pickup assemblies around. I've also removed dumper on ps9 and cleaned the sensors. Same story.

It prints/copies fine from manual feed, so I've ruled out any fuser related issues.

It has old style preregistration flag, no metal jacket, but hardly any wear (15mm), so I don't think it needs a replace.

    Any thoughts ?

    Thanks,
    John

Does it jam every time from BOTH cassettes? On A4 & A3? (Or your country paper sizes)

Dont rule out those old style flags even if they look ok can still be worn enough to give trouble!

Yep, both cassettes everytime. A4 and A4R. And I`ve checked dials, they are set correctly.
I'm tempted to replace pre registration flag as well. Just wondering if there`s anything else worth trying.

    Cheers,
    John

If the bypass is fine then i'd be looking at the top feed unit, maybe the one way clutch on the end of the grey roller shaft.

You can swap those two feed units round, just swap the brackets, that would be worth a try

Thanks for suggestion. I`ve tried swapping feed units already. Still getting stuck even if copying one page.

There is a pad on the back side of the registration switch that can get sticky, also remove all pads on the door and around the fuser.

    Hi Rob,
Yep. I`ve scraped that one off already. There is a replacement FC0-2118-010 for it too, but its 4 weeks lead time from supplier atm. So I didn't bother yet. Whereabouts are the other pads near fuser thatyou`ve mentioned?

    Thanks,
    John

Above the fuser there is a deflection gate for the duplex, there are 3 pads under the gate fingers and 4 pads on the inner swing out section. There are also 4 pads under the gate on the door. None of the pads need to be there, they are just for noise dampening, I hope this helps.

Cool. Thanks Rob. Sounds promising. I'll check that out and report back 8-).

    John

If the machine is jamming every copy then you can rule out the sticky pads, they only cause interminent jams, usually first thing in the morning & you say the bypass works fine so you can rule out the registration sensor.
