IR 5000 & @ printer noob
Hey all,
I’m a noob to printers, I have an IR 5000 that I would like to learn some information about. I have attempted to access the printer’s Remote UI: however the majority of the functions require authentication. Anyone know what the default username and passwords are for this model?
Otherwise if I can go about getting the same system information physically from the machine itself that would also be an option (I am just assuming it will also require authentication).
I would like to know what firmware levels are currently on the machine (potentially have to do an upgrade), also I would like to modify the systems mailboxes. Ultimately I will be setting it up with ImageWARE Document Manager 4.1 workgroup for doc scanning.
I know some Canon tech’s have serviced the printer in the past, not sure if that may provide some insight on the possible passwords…
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your time

there is no default username or password-just like the majority of o/s in the world
assume you are accessing the rui via ip in browser?
on such an old model firmware should have been updated
as routine and as such should'nt offer any problems to iw
(though not sure if iw360 is supported with none meap)
the id issues sounds like sys manager is turned on
to resolve
a) clear it
B) find out what it is

How To Clear Service Password on IR 5000
Alex thanks for responding, I appreciate you taking time out of your day to help me.
For lack of better words, I was a bit angry at my organization for such lackluster documentation of their tools. I ended up calling a service tech and he walked me through the process of entering service mode (*,2&8,*), then selecting "Copier", "Function", "Clear", then finally "Pwd-Clr". Once that was complete I had to restart the machine and all was good to go! That was the information I was hoping I could get from this forum.
Now the Remote UI: is clear of passwords and I have full functionality and capabilities. The service tech is coming out today to hopefully complete a firmware update which should enable our ImageWARE server to correctly register the IR 5000 device.
I was under the impression most OS's have default usernames and passwords?
Administrator, Admin, Superuser, Root, Manager, system, netadmin, user, etc. No? I figured it was worth asking because there is always a chance.
Thanks for your help.
