1- do u see the progress bar-
2- if so> how far,
3- or do u have a blank screen
4- did u check--all the keys on the control panel to make sure one was not stuck and all worked normally.
5- Can u boot in download mode
6-Flash PCB (Boot Program) located on Main Controller PCB 1 (FM4-0792-000)
7-Riser PCB (FM4-0795-000) that connects Main Controller PCB's 1 and 2
8- Remove Fax Kit (if applies) and try a power up if success > re-connect the Fax kit & try boot up again.
9- Remove Print Server connections (if applies) > try a boot up __
After Replacing the Main Controller/s PCB's
CANON > it has been reported from the field that if the machine prompted for multiple shut downs (possibly as many as 4 or 5 times).
After rebooting each time the machine prompted to do so, normal operation resumed.

well the machine is fixed, the other tech rang me the other day, said it was down to the firmware?? I had it in the call notes that the HDD was new and new firmware was loaded and it still wouldnt boot. He said that he used the orginal HDD and just flashed it and up she came.... Strange but true, however its working..so time to move on...cant work it out myself but .....

Firmware to be reloaded and overwrite all?
The stopping at half way is a HDD drive related problem.
