What is dcon in canon ir machines. What we try to do when we connect it to SST and try to do DCON?

DC Controller
A circuit board that controls the electrical and mechanical functions of the printer.
This board is separate from the main board in most printers.
Canon iR's are complex electro-mechanical devices driven by sophisticated circuitry.
It is important that they be placed in a clean and stable electrical environment so that they operate as they were designed to function.
Electrical disturbances can hamper the logic functions of the devices' microprocessors resulting in errors and lost productivity
Only needs a single update when Canon provides information to do so/ otherwise > leave it.

You would download the firmware update from SIMS when canon releases it and install / register it in SST. Then update the machine accordingly. Usually done to iron out bugs in the software.
On IR you can use SST or USB stick to update firmware but on the irADV you can also use the inbuilt updater from service mode.
If you don't have access to the SIMS portal i'm sure someone here will be able to supply the latest firmware for you ... for a price ;-)
