    E003-0002 Error

I have a Canon IRA c5030 giving E003-002 errors. I've gone through all of the recommended steps in the service manual (clearing the error log, etc.) and also installed a known good fusing unit from another machine. The only step left is to replace the DC controller. Before I order one I wanted to see if there is anything else I should check.
    Many thanks.

This may be a dumb question, but did you clear the error history or the error itself (Copier>Function>Clear>Err)? It's hard to tell by the way you phrased it.

I performed a Copier>Function>Clear>Err, verified that the history was cleared, turned off power at the switch, then powered up. When the boot process completed the notice to call service appeared and the error history showed a new occurrence of the E003-0002 error. Did I miss something?

    Thanks!

The correct way to solve this error (If resetting in service mode doesnt clear) is to replace the fixing film ass'y WITH A NEW ONE

As I mentioned before, I replaced the entire fixing unit. It made no difference. BTW, the fixing unit from the problem copier works fine when installed in another copier.

Are you referring to the "drawer connector" on the fixing assembly? I saw a post referring to a different Canon series that mentioned using shims to make the drawer connector make better contact. I haven't tried that since it applied to a different series.

Here's a bit more info. The E003-0002 error occurs when there is no fixing unit installed at all.
