There is an Article 84454 on esupport. Its a 1025.. so very very different model. But the fix in that case was to do an all clear.
Personally I would reload firmware then try it.
If it persists i would run a PPRINT and then do a DCON clear.

Well it sounds like a software problem, an update wont hurt
When you think you have made a procedure idiot proof your company employs a better idiot.
Dont forget. In the C3380 series the software can look great no problem and Dept ID can look like it wants to work however no work station will verify with the Canon. In this case you must NUKE all setting in in User mode. Format and reload system software.
