IR2520 Paper lift with AE1 cassette

Just fitted a brand new AE1 (2x550sht) option to a IR2520 that already has a single 250sht tray. On powering up the machine displays the presence of the new trays and recognises the paper size choices made. Neither of the new trays are lifting the paper, with paper empty displayed. Neither of the motors work. Have checked and double checked that the AE1 connections to the copier are good. I'm not getting 24v to the AE1 PCB and the 24v is not present at J221 on the DC Controller PCB. Strangely, 24v is present at the adjacent (smaller) connector on the copier where the AE1 is connected. Should there be 24v at J221 all the time the copier is powered up or is it switched on when the machine detects the optional module fitted? If the latter is true, what needs to be done to switch it on? Many thanks in advance for any help/advice you can give.

Many thanks for your reply to my thread. Can you explain more about this power supply please? Part number? Instructions link? I'm surprised it's not mentioned in the instructions for installing the AE1.

    I believe it's 2853B002AA U1 Power Supply Unit.

Again, many thanks for your help zoraldinho. In my searching for the optional power supply details I found this archived thread http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/ar...p/t-89241.html Clearly I'm not the only one who's struggled with this one. I've ordered an Option Power Supply U1 PCB and see what I get. Haven't found any connection details for it yet, nor where it installs. Hoping that it comes with installation notes and a few wires as there isn't anything spare coming from the main power PCB at the moment.

Optional power supply fitted and connected (very straightforward) and all works fine. Would never have spotted this without help from zoraldinho. Many thanks again for your input.
