    2270 black line

See attached copy. This is an ir2270, we have changed the drum, transfer roller and developer. The strange thing is, if you use the bypass this line does not appear but if you use the paper drawers it does. Also if you do a duplex copy, the line is only on 1 side. It seems like this should be obvious but I can't seem to figure it out. Any ideas?

    I can contribute a little.

It's a compression. The first thing you need to determine is if it's happening in the DF or the print engine. My guess is the DF. Make copies off of the glass, and internal reports or prints.

If you don't see your compression from originals off the glass, prints, or reports, then it's the DF. When the trailing edge of the original leaves the DF's registration roller the paper hesitates briefly. Often it's as simple as the DF height being misadjusted. I've also seen a chipped slit glass cause this.

If you do see your compression from originals off the glass, prints, or reports, then it's the print engine. When the trailing edge of the print or copy leaves the registration roller the paper hesitates briefly. The most common cause would be a drive problem with the fuser: seizing bearings, bushings, worn gears or rollers with flat spots. If the fuser checks out OK I would look for an adjustment of the fuser speed. You'll get this effect when the fuser is turning too slow.

I've assumed that your sample image was fed LTR LEF, correct? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I agree looks like a drive issue.

But need more info, copy, DF, print etc post an internal print say a history print.
However if as you say bypass is fine i'd say is a drive issue slipping registration clutch etc

make the copy using the test sheet and make it jam in the middleof the process, and check to see where and when, may have to do it 3-4 times

Yep, it was a registration issue, the very tip of the flag was broken so the trail edge was leaving too soon.....problem solved. Thanks for the help.
