Canon IRAC 351 iF No send Function

Hi Guys,

I have a issue with a Canon IRAC351iF which originally had a problem of hanging a few mins after startup. We tried a few things, Clearing MMI, (no change) Clearing DC CONT, (no change), we then tried to print the P-Print, which came through the machine but the printouts were completely blank.

We then decided to go for broke and clear the Main Controller, which did work, in that the machine doesn't hang anymore and the P-Print works perfectly. The only thing now is that after clearing the Main Controller the machines SEND function is not available, so thus we cant scan from it.

My thinking is that since the SEND function is license based, the license has been cleared when we cleared the Main Controller and that is why it doesn't appear anymore...

My question is, how do i get the license back on if that is the case, and if not, what else can i do to get the SEND function back on the machine.

I think the "i" means it comes with the send feature, no license needed. I would try and reload software. I don't know where you could turn that send feature off but I guess it could have defaulted when you cleared the Main Controller.

Press counter button / device configuration send should be in the list.

Send can be disabled and transfered to another machine if it was purchased as an option in level 2.

Machines that come with it cannot be transfered / disabled afaik

I have upgraded firmware to the latest version (Ver: 35.04.01 (01 mar 2016) but still no send...

I have check the service mode entry to display the send UI but it is on (1) also tried turning it off and on again just to be sure and still nothing.....

I understand that all the i models come standard with the Send functionality but as said before is it possible (since they are license based) that the license was cleared when i cleared the main controller.

(i cant confirm if clearing the main controller will clear licenses from the device) If so, then I'm sure i will have to ask Canon for a re-licensing procedure but if not then there's obviously more to the problem that just the license being cleared.

I believe there is no license when the option is Standard---

Does the Scan and Send Icon show on LCD display.

Do you see "Show All" on LCD Display (upper right corner) see pic below

If not > The Show All option may be enabled by executing the following.

Select the Options button in the upper right of the screen (small BOX ICON)

When using Universal Send SMB to scan documents, the green LED on the copy start button will not illuminate with paper placed in the document feeder or the glass.
is this your case ?????

On the imageRUNNER ADVANCE printers select the Scanner button.

Thanks teckat, but the answer to all the questions above are pretty much "no".

I dont have the "SEND" tab displayed.........also no i have noticed that there is no tab for "ACCESS STORED FILES" even though it is enabled........see pics below,

also i have notived that the "SEND" function is not listed as an installed feature under "DEVICE CONFIGURATION" under the meter reading menu......see pics below

aslo the "SEND" function settings are not displayed under "FUNCTION SETTINGS" menu.......

Like mentioned before i have tried firmware, which is upgraded to the latest version...........

I think a litter of petrol and a box of matches might do the trick.......

A Canon guy told me a few years back the only difference between an i and a non i was software licenses that are installed in the factory.

I would be looking at the main controller too

**SUCCESS**..... finally got it working, thanks teckat and skynet for your guys help, In the end i doubled checked all the connectors on the main controller and re-installed firmware after a complete format.

Ver 3405 is the latest version but that also didnt work for me so i tried a older version of firmware, Ver 3021 and boom it worked like a charm, Now im not 100% sure theres a fault with the new firmware but it didnt seem to work for me.
